The 2018 OpenAir Members Exclusive OpenAir Conditioner XII
January 26-28, 2018
Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor's Club - Madison, WI

The Topless Are Going Back on Top – of the Concourse Hotel!

Great News, OpenAir Tour Friends! It’s Official! We’re going back to OAC’s favorite winter haven for the OpenAir Conditioner - The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club January 26-28!

OpenAir Conditioner XII will once again be based at this preferred premier property in Madison, Wisconsin. We have again secured a privileged rate for OAC Members that generally is available only to close hotel owners family members or Governor’s themselves! $139/per night (plus taxes) double occupancy. This includes parking, spacious and well-equipped executive level room, keyed access to the Executive Level, legendary Governor’s Club lounge hospitality, a reserved OAC meeting and hospitality room, and hotel location in the bustling heart of downtown Madison just steps from State Street, the Capitol, museums, fine restaurants, shopping and the University of Wisconsin. In short, we have found a real gem inthe top-rated Governor’s Club.

M ake room reservations now – (limited number). Room Block OAC Rate cut off is January 5, 2018. Call Concourse Reservations at 608-257-6000 or 800-356-8293. Ask for the Open Air Conditioner Room Block, id number 658839. Registration for the meeting itself will begin in November – watch your email for the registration form!

Of course, the reason for this winter, topless optional meeting is to have fun! Yes, it’s“convertible optional” of course, so bring your new Lambo, or your beautiful classic T-Bird, hot Corvette, Monster Miata, Jeep, or Olds just out of re-hab. No matter. Whatever. Be there with us as we officially begin the countdown to the world’s greatest open-air touring event – The OpenAir Classic 2018 – AKA: OAC “XIII”! August 16-19, 2018.

WELCOME New Members!
Yes, you’re certainly invited! Just FYI: this winter meeting was organized because long-time members hated the thought of going a whole year between get-togethers. They wanted to toast the New Year and bask in the warmth of topless touring friends, swap road stories (some of them are true!) and possibly brave a few flakes of snow to have a spirited winter rendezvous. Our friends at the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club ( http://www.concoursehotel.com)have done such an outstanding job of welcoming our group that this non-NFL playoff weekend before the SuperBowl is now written in permanent marker on many calendars! The gathering is certainly spirited – and casual, laid-back. It’s a time to hang out with great convertible friends.

And Now Even More Special!
We’ve just confirmed that our “Worth Waking Up For!” presentation on Saturday will be Bill Clevlen, the dynamic Saint Louis, MO, author and radio personality whose new book, “100 Things to Do in America Before You Die” has people all over the country canceling funeral arrangements so they can plan extra road trips, check off some items and not miss anything! Then we do a fun sprint out of Madison to the “ More Swiss than Wis” town” – New Glarus - where we put the “cherry on top of this tasty weekend” at our All-Out Swiss Style Revelation Lunch with Swiss humor, music, and Alphorns before we unveil the OpenAir Classic “XIII” 2018 destination, headquarters community and hotel(s)!

Registered members at the OpenAir Conditioner are guaranteed first access to headquarter hotel reservations (one room per registered membership) for the August 16-19, 2018 -- OpenAir Tour “XIII.” Though we’ve been lucky to have 200 rooms available at our headquarter hotels in both 2017 and 2016, that is not guaranteed to be the case in 2018 as we move to another destination. AirConditioner attendees will have first, best access to Headquarter hotel rooms.

Some gamblers in our group may want to wager on just where we’re headed. Be warned: the veterans who sound most reasonable and who “you’d think might know” are often wrong. As this letter hits the email stream, the decision has not yet been made. It will be soon and by the time we all meet in January it will be a certainty.

Wherever it is – be assured there are more roller-coaster jaw-dropping roads, gorgeous vistas, check-point discoveries, and backroad gems to come. We promise the opportunity to make more great memories, see places many experienced travelers have missed, and lots of smiles, waving and “OMG” moments - August 16-19, 2018.

The good news is that as a member you are GUARANTEED a spot if you register within “the MORP” – the “Members Only Registration Period.” The Member’s Only Early Registration Period (MORP) will begin in late May or early June 2018. Watch your email!

Unveiling the 2018 OpenAir Classic XIII Tour Destination!

If you’re betting on destinations, all we can tell you is you’re probably more likely to win Power Ball. You’d think after all these years we might have used up all the good routes & destinations. Uh-uh. If you thought the 2017 tour was great wait until you see what’s on tap for 2018. Even more spectacular vistas, hair-pin switchbacks, corkscrew trails, hills to climb, water, wide-open spaces, friendly natives, wine to sip and bucket-list check-offs. In 2017 we hit the 200 limit quickly. Word is getting around. So we hope you’ll protect the dates right now. We’ll most likely fill the grid quickly again.
